IWC Ingenieur Watch Repair
Gray & Sons Jewelers, located in Miami Beach, Florida is an independent watch service center, repairing IWC Ingenieur Watch Repair watches since 1980.
IWC was founded in 1868 by Florentine Jones, An American watchmaker and engineer who traveled to Switzerland and started the beloved watch brand “International Watch Company”. The Ingenieur model is one of the IWC Classical Collection. Upon its release in 1954, The Ingenieur took the world by storm with its innovative movement. The first reference released was the 666A and 666AD. It featured the calibre 852 (for the 666A) or calibre 8521 (for the 666AD). This timepiece was such a tremendous success that famous designer Gerald Genta blessed the Ingenieur with his influence taking the Ingenieur from a classical round case to the example we see today. Introducing a new case design revolutionized the model and brand for generations to come. Designed with a Pellaton winding system which was inserted into a soft iron cage protecting the movement, seals and case from up to 80,000 amperes per meter, a statistic unheard of in this time period. This timepiece was originally designed for military use and was utilized by many armies through this time period. These new innovations to the movement and an introduction to the public brought the Ingenieur to the forefront of IWC’s popularity.
