REPAIR & SERVICE
Patek Philippe Calatrava 5196
Gray & Sons Jewelers, located in Miami Beach, Florida is an independent watch service center, repairing Patek Philippe Calatrava 5196 watches since 1980.
Originally established in 1845, Patek Philippe has introduced the watch world to a number of the most recognizable designs. The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse, The Patek Philippe Calatrava, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut, the Patek Philippe Golden Nautilus, the Patek Philippe Gondolo, the Patek Philippe Twenty-4, and the Patek Philippe Grand Complications are some of the most iconic timepieces available. Although Patek Philippe is known for watches that feature complications such as minute repeater, perpetual calendar, tourbillon, chronograph, and annual calendar, in addition to dual time zone, day, month, date, moonphase indicator, world time, and power reserve indicator, some of their most distinguished watches feature time only.
The Patek Philippe Calatrava, first released in 1932, is known for its elegance and simplicity. It was named for the Calatrava Cross that is Patek Philippe’s emblem. Many versions feature no complications beyond telling time. The Patek Philippe Calatrava Reference 5196 is a modern take on the original Calatrava concept. Whereas the original 1932 Patek Philippe Calatrava measured 31mm, the Calatrava 5196 has a case diameter of 37mm. It features a smaller winding and setting crown as well, further streamlining its form. Intended to be versatile in its use, appropriate for wear with a tuxedo, a business suit, or jeans, the Calatrava 5196 is manually-wound, powered by a Calibre 215 PS (small seconds) movement, comprised of 130 separate parts and finished with both perlage and Côtes de Genève decorations. Only the watchmaker who services the watch (and you, in our photos) will ever see it. That’s standard for Patek Philippe; they pay attention to the smallest details, even those no one will see.
